Karolína is a concert singer, art director of Music from Paradise Festival, an occasional moderator, and a member of Opera Studio Praha. She also has experience with opera in the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre Ostrava and J.K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň for example. She performs with such ensembles as the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Moravian Philharmonic Olomouc, Barocco Sempre Giovane, the Karlovy Vary Symphonic Orchestra, and The Czech Army Central Band.
Being very versatile, she is focused on both classical and modern opera repertoire. Karolína is dedicated to song writing, oratorio and classical music. She also enjoys Spanish zarzuela, classic musical and swing. In 2020, she was awarded second place in a prestigious singing contest in Vienna.
Her beginnings are tied with the Prague Children’s Opera, which gave her the opportunity to sing not only in Prague, but also on Austrian, German, French, and Japanese stages. Study brought her to the Prague Conservatory, where she was tutored by mezzosoprano Jiřina
Přívratská, and later by tenor Zdeněk Šmukař at JAMU (Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts) in Brno. Karolína finished her postgraduate studies at Univesität Mozarteum in Salzburg, where she was guided by Norse soprano Kjellaug Tesaker.
Karolína won the Bohuslav Martinů Song Contest, has won awards at the Dušek and Olomouc singing competitions, and took second place in Wiener Danubia Talents International Music Competition, which took place in Vienna.
Participating in singing courses with renowned singers Dagmar Pecková and Martina Janková several times, Karolina also had the opportunity to work with the pianists Ivo Kahánek and Gérard Wyss. In Vienna, she was an active listener in courses of the current Vienna State Opera soloist Bojidar Nikolov.
At present, Karolína performs at home, and abroad in Austria, Germany and France, where she lived for a while. As a soloist, Karolína performs with the Prague Radio Symphonic Orchestra, Prague Symphony Orchestra, West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Mariánské Lázně, Karlovy
Vary Symphony Orchestra, The Czech Army Central Band, Barocco Sempre Giovane and the Rychnov Church Choir.
Karolína works in regular cooperation with such classical musicians as violinist Pavel Šporcl, pianist Ivo Kahánek, oboist Vilém Veverka, guitarist Lubomír Brabec, harpist Kateřina Englichová, and harpsichordist Barbara Maria Willi. She has taken part in festivals like Zlatá Pecka (Golden Pecka), Lissa Classica, Dvořák’s Nelahozeves, Antonín Dvořák Music Festival in Příbram, Petr Dvorský Music Festival, Smiřice Music Festival, South Bohemian Nové Hrady festival, Saint John’s Music Festival, Film Music Prague in the Prague Rudolfinum, at the Forum Karlín, and in the Congress Centre in Prague. Karolína has performed at the Three Cathedrals Festival in Saint Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna, and in Saint Vitus’ Cathedral in Prague.
Karolína is a dramaturge of the Music from Paradise Festival, whose fifth year is taking place this summer in the Bohemian Paradise, and a patron of Stars and Starlets Festival in Jeseník.
